Support for Windows 7 is Nearing the End

by Natalie Teinert | Jun 24, 2019
Windows 7

After January 14, 2020, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates or support for computers running Windows 7. We know change can be difficult, that’s why we’re reaching out early to help you prepare for what’s next.

Why is Microsoft stopping support for Windows 7?
The move from Microsoft to stop issuing security updates is part of the company’s ongoing effort to push users to its latest software, which stands on a greater security foundation and improvements to mitigate attacks.

So, what happens if I continue to use Windows 7?
You can continue to use Windows 7, but once Microsoft support ends, your computer will become more vulnerable to security risks. Your computer will still operate, but you will stop receiving feature and important security updates.

How do I know what Operating System I’m on?
The easiest way to tell which operating system your Windows computer is running is by the start button.

You have Windows 7 if you see a Start Menu that looks like this when you select the Start button:

Moving to Windows 10
Whether you’re upgrading your current devices, or it’s time to invest in hardware and software, we have the help you need.

If your machine can support it – the Windows 10 software is free in most cases. If your computer does not support Windows 10, replacing it might be the best option.

Our technicians will help you determine if you have any computers that need to be upgraded or replaced. Please contact us at 361.575.7656 or email us here.
